The global model for high-impact storytelling that seeds media projects and partnerships

designed to strengthen communities and create social change is coming to Puerto Rico for the first time ever and is seeking projects.

ADocPR, the Philadelphia Latino Film Festival (PHLAFF), and NYWIFT, along with Doc Society announced their partnership to produce Good Pitch Local Puerto Rico which will take place on Tuesday, December 7.  The program will be a live webcast from Puerto Rico, with a robust group of invited online participants ranging from NGOs, distributors, foundations both locally and from afar there to support and advance the work. An outdoor, in-person networking element is being developed should COVID safety measures allow.

Good Pitch Local aims to provide Puerto Rico creative media makers and organizations with a powerful platform for collaboration and impact, connecting them to resources and partners, strengthening networks and communities. This program will be eligible to filmmakers born and living in Puerto Rico, filmmakers born in Puerto Rico and living in New Jersey, New York & Pennsylvania, filmmakers born abroad and currently living and working in Puerto Rico, and filmmakers of Puerto Rican heritage with projects to be developed and shot in Puerto Rico. The call for entries opens on July 14 and will close on September 10, 2021.

What Happens at Good Pitch?

At the live event, pitches are made, moderators work the room, and individuals step up to offer support of all kinds to advance the projects to production and community impact. The day includes presentations from experts in media and impact offering good ideas and actionable insights. As of now we are envisioning this as a digital event and are exploring ways to introduce in-person networking into the live event. Our team is closely monitoring the guidelines for in-person gatherings and any changes to the program will be communicated to potential participants and audience members here on our website and via email.

“It’s incredibly exciting to have the opportunity to collaborate with these amazing teams to take Good Pitch Local to Puerto Rico. Serving as a collaborator for the Good Pitch Local Philadelphia events has given me the chance to witness the impact that this event has on filmmakers and changemakers.
