Join us as we roll out the first shows of our #AfroTainoWinter2018 on a generous note. You're invited to a musical fundraiser for the PRIMA fund, with live musical performances from Puerto Rican indie Latin folk singer/songwriter Ani Cordero, and Philadelphia's own alt-baroque artist Daniel de Jesus. PRIMA - standing for Puerto Rico Independent Musicians Assistance - is an joint effort supported by a handful of artists, musicians, producers who are coming to the immediate aid of Puerto Rico's music base. Music is a key attraction of Puerto Rico's tourism, and it's not uncommon to see dozens of live bands playing inside the plazas, the cafes, the bars, and hotels in one night. But the damage of back-to-back hurricanes & a very slow-moving recovery plan (or lack thereof) has left the island's live music industry in very bad shape. These musicians cannot continue their careers as before, and many others need financial support just to make ends meet. PRIMA will award mini-grants to the applicants, but that support has to come from somewhere reliable. And that's where YOU - the music-loving patron - are needed. Please come to the show to enjoy the musical stylings of both acts, and be rest assured that you are directly helping those in need.
Doors open at 7PM.
