A multi-instrumentalist, composer and Harmony Foundation World Ambassador, Kinobe is steeped in the music of their homeland, but with ears opened to the sounds of the world at large. With koras, kalimbas, adungus, endongos, ngonis, and percussion Kinobe invites audiences into his culture, describing the instruments and their roles in African society and history. A show from Kinobe and his backing band, the Wamu Spirit, is a journey into the soul of Africa. Born near Lake Victoria in Uganda, Kinobe's first international performance was at age of ten with his school ensemble and since then Kinobe has been captivating audiences with virtuoso performances and original compositions, reflecting a wealth of African and worldwide influences. Properly dubbed as 'the new voice of Uganda', Kinobe's has dedicated his life to championing for a better future for children worldwide and using his music as a voice to unite the world. Let's come together on Friday July 1st at the Art After 5 live music series and bathe in the afropop sound of Kinobe & the Wamu Spirit. Showtime is 5:30PM.
